Also Martin Daican my anaesthetist who took extremely good care for me. Lastly the ward staff who cared for me without effort.

I had a complex total hip replacement on the 3rd September 2025. From the pre op to discharge,I was super impressed and enormously grateful. Every single member of staff,no matter what their role was first class. I was scared of the surgery but I was looked after beautifully. I felt completely confident with my surgeon,Mr Salih and my anaesthetist Stuart Smith was amazing. He explained the proceedure, gave me little lessons and drew diagrams while we chatted through my surgery. I felt very safe with him. The two men who prepared me in the anaesthetic room were wonderful. I cannot remember their names in the haze of recovery but I was so happy it was them. They were kind, efficient and humourous. All staff afterwards, whether medical or non medical were brilliant and the food was marvellous. I recently visited for a wound inspection and Emma was lovely and reassuring too. Many thanks and much gratitude to all. Peach Sweetman

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome by Chesterfield Hospital. They referred me to a consultant at NHS hospital but I would've had to have waited too long for the appointment. I managed to get an earlier private appointment with Spire Claremont as the pain I was suffering was severe and keeping me awake at night. An appointment was made. On the day of the appointment and two and a half hours before I received a text from Claremont informing me that my appointment was cancelled as the consultant didn't do private work there. I spoke with them and they repeated this. No alternative was offered and no apology for the mess up. I'm not sure how they were able to make a private appointment with the consultant when he only does NHS work there. I was so disappointed and felt completely helpless! I was in awful pain and unable to carry out my daily tasks but no one cared! I am sure the consultants, doctors and medical staff are very good but the negligence and slapdash attitude of the administrative staff reflects badly on the hospital. I have since sought help from BUPA and they are now progressing with my case.
