Nuffield Health Edinburgh Hospital

Booked a private MRI scan directly through NUFIELD Hospital. It was straightforward, uncomplicated, and I did not need a referral. I had a health concern and would’ve got nowhere quickly, going through my gp, and I just wanted some confirmation that I was okay, or whether there was something wrong. The reception staff made this very easy, I was booked in for a scan within one week, and when I attended for this, the hospital was in a beautiful converted mansion house in Edinburgh, in pristine condition, with professional and helpful staff. It was also unlike other private hospitals I’ve been too which are now over run with patients. The scan was reviewed by radiographers and a consultant, who called me to inform me I did indeed have a problem that needed further investigation, and he explained what these tests should be. Again, he was kindly, professional and I was grateful for such care. All in all, I can’t recommend NUFIELD hospital enough. If something is nagging away at you, and you’re wondering if something is wrong, get in touch with them to find out what that is, or get it fixed there by the consultants surgically. Don’t waste time waiting.

Absolutely fantastic care from my assessment appointment, through to the surgery day (16/6) itself: the pre- and post-op care was fantastic. I cannot speak more highly of my experience. The theatre staff— Duncan and Alan(?) were so nice and had to listen to me chat away! The nurses— Irena, Steph and Hannah were all so kind and extremely attentive. The anaesthetist (Dr Hall I think!) was lovely— bonus points for keeping me breathing and alive! And my surgeon, Mr Anderson: such a kind professional, put me at ease and has changed my life— thank you so much! Would highly recommend! I should add, the follow up call the day after was a professional touch— asking how I was, and asking me some questions to assess my recovery. I think this was Caroline who called— she, like everyone else was lovely! I hope I have names correct, if not, I will blame the GA! Thank you again. First class!
